What is Bethel Church all about? Well to keep is simple, We are Passionately in love with Jesus! In everything we do we are attempting to live life to the fullest, which is to live a life close to Jesus and under his protection. We simply put it this way.
“Bethel Church is here to reach the world for Jesus, one person at a time. The statement has layers to it that reflect our beliefs and values. We want to reach the world, that is that we want to have an impact on it and also that we desire to be relevant in the place that God has put us in. More than just having an impact on our world, we want to make that impact be about Jesus. And we believe that the way we do this is by being in relationship with people. Not just putting on programs for people but to actually live life together, following in Jesus’ footsteps.
The process in which we would try and do this is simple. Well actually it’s really a complete and total movement of God in our lives, but we believe our part is to do our best to Reach up, Reach in, and Reach out. That is we Reach up to God in love and response to his work and movement in our lives, We reach in to each others lives and share life together in a deep a true way that allows us to walk the road together, and we reach out into the lives of others around us and share what God’s love is all about with them.
Because being a Christian simply means being in a relationship with Jesus, there is no formula or program that can make you grow and become more deeply mature in relationship with Him. However we strongly feel that there are things that we can do to best position ourselves to grow. We believe that having a personal relationship with Jesus starts with you being personal with Him. That means that you privately spend time learning about Him, talking to Him, and choosing to trust and follow Him. We believe that it is important to belong to a church family and learn about, and worship Him together. We attempt to do this Sunday mornings at 10:30 and at 6:00 pm. We believe that we best learn how to apply what we have learned by having personal accountability and close friends that are trying to apply the same things that we are at the same time. We believe that becoming part of a small group or community group is one of the best ways to do this. We are developing a church that is made up of small groups and hope to one day have over 100% participation in the small groups ministries. Lastly we believe that sometimes we need others in our lives that can help us in a unique way. With nothing better to call these groups, we call them life-stage, or specific affinity groups.
